Why start a blog?

Just start

Launching a blog has been something I have wanted to do for a while now.  For the past few years I have been dabbling in and out of online marketing causing me to fail miserably at it.  I have tried things such as affiliate marketing, kindle publishing and many others.  I even started a blog before and failed at that also.

My point is that even though I failed at those things it still hasn’t discouraged me from trying again and again.  My enthusiasm for online marketing has only grown along with other passions such as self improvement, travel and lifestyle design.  These may sound totally different to some people but they are actually very closely related and people have managed to create very successful blogs/personal brands from them.

What to expect…

So now I have explained my interests and passions I am going to tell you exactly what to expect from the blog.

I want to publish my experiences within these areas through my social platforms such as my website, YouTube, Facebook & Instagram.  Why would I do this?  The main reason I want to do this is because I can see the huge opportunity for growing a personal brand.  Documenting my experiences can not only help me overcome my problems but can hopefully help others with theirs.  I know from personal experience that having someone relateable going through the same problems is a huge help.

I have started to really enjoy blogging as I do more and more of it.  I feel that writing about your feelings and experiences on a certain topic can allow for you to understand it better, therefore making it easier to overcome.

Long term vision

Long term vision is something I think is hugely important, and something you should definitely think about when you ask yourself ‘why start a blog?’.  This is because results do not come straight away and only with long term consistency can you hope to create something “successful”.  What you deem  successful is completely up to you and your goals.

Personally I would like to create a full time income through my online blog,  along with other online revenue streams.  This is something that has fascinated me for years.  Countless people over the years  have created successful businesses online with the help of blogs and social media platforms.  I see a huge opportunity at the moment and don’t see much downside (if any) in trying.

What next?

The main things I want to focus on is creating really good content for the blog, and learning more about digital marketing.

I would encourage anybody to start a blog.  It may seem daunting or even weird to some people but if you do enjoy writing and have thought about blogging before then what have you got to lose?

Thanks for reading.
